Hello my fellow hookers! How have you been? This Covid pandemic is really testing my patience. but on the bright side... i have all the time in the world to crochet! I quickly whipped up a set for Barbie in less than an hour. I took inspiration from the WinX Club fairy Bloom.
It's not exacttly the same, I've changed the skirt a bit. Let's get started with the pattern.
~ You'll need ~
Crochet Cotton size 10
(I've used Anchor Knitting Cotton)
1.5mm hook
Buttons
~ Stitches Used ~
Ch - Chain
Sc - Single Crochet
V - 2 sc in same place
W - 3 sc in same place
A - Sc invisible decrease 2tog
M - sc invisible decrease 3tog
Pattern Notes:
* ch1 and turn after each row* pattern is written in numbers. Example ~ *20, W, 20* means - 1 sc each in the next 20 stitches, 3sc in the next stitch, 1 sc each in the next 20 stitches.
The Top
Ch 42
R1 - 20, W, 20 [43]
R2 - 16, V, 4, W, 4, V, 16 [47]
R3 - 16, M, 4, W, 4, M, 16 [45]
R4 - 15, A, 5, W, 5, A, 15 [45]
R5 - 22, W, 22 [47]
R6 - 23, W, 23 [49]
R7 - 24, W, 24 [51]
Put it around the doll, the fit will depend on the body type of your doll. If it does not overlap, ch1, turn your work and make a couple of rows along the sides of the rows and fasten off.
Neck
Mark the 3 sc in the centre of R7.
R1 - Ch 7, 3sc in the marked sc, ch8
R2 - from the 2nd ch, sc in each ch & sc [17]
Fasten Off
The Skirt
Ch 46
R1 & R2- 45
R3 - V, 43, V [47]
R4 & R5 - 47
R6 - V, 45, V [49]
R7 to R11 - 49 [5 rows]
R12 - (7, A) x 2, 13, (A, 7) x 2 [45]
R13 - (3, A) x 3, 15, (A, 3) x 3 [39]
Fasten Off
