Front Post DC

Hello fellow hookers! In this lesson, we will see how to make the Front Post Double Crochet [FPDC]. If you havn't been through the previous lessons, you can find them here.

The FPDC is worked a little different than the regular dc. Instead of working in the loops on top, the stitch is worked around the post of the stitch below. Because of this, this stitch is a little shorter than the normal dc, so the turning chain is a chain 2.

Step 1 ~ yo

Step 2 ~ insert the hook into the row below and bring it up [as shown in the pic below] so that you have grabbed the post of the stitch.


Step 3 ~ yo, and pull up a loop

We will now have 3 loops on the hook.

Step 4 ~ complete the dc normally.
